Today in Pictures

Don't worry, I'm wearing shorts under my ridiculously short dress!
I never really know how to pose

This is cute though

And without the coat!
Mommy told me today that I looked like a star! Personally, I hope she meant a star like Claire Danes in Stardust ( one of my all-time favorite movies) rather than a star like a celebrity. I did look pretty bad-ass though! I wore my new Prague boots and military-esque style jacket. The boots and jacket are from Delias clearance sale and I got the dress a few years back from Alloy clearance sale. The tights are Hue, the socks are from my muncas (maternal grandmother), and the assortment of jewelry is from off-beat wierd-as-all-Hell places that one might not expect to get jewelry from! There we go. Nice outfit. Earlier I was wearing some RayBan Wayfarer knockoffs that I got for $5 at the county fair a few years ago. This may explain why I felt so badass. Possibly. Gee, I really need to dye my hair to a more human color! I've been thinking teal might be nice... Abrams (I refer to him by his last name because I prefer it to his awful first name [smells like a personal problem]) from American Idol has been in the hospital with stomach ulcers. I've had stomach ulcers, they're painful as f*ck. I find myself screaming to the heavens: "why him???" Obviously, he's my favorite.
By the way; style watcher: Shenanigan (no, that's not her real name!) looked tres belle in her business attire today (speech day!) and the ever-charming Harry Potter club pres looked uniquely stunning as ever in her crazy platform boots and plaid shirt/long white skirt combo on (I think) Wednesday. Sadly, I didn't think to snap any pics.
Love,
Belle

Mardi Gras 2011

I'm soooo prettyyyy...
Who is that adorable girl?! Oh, what? Me? Goodness, golly, gosh...
I just thought I looked pretty in this one.
My tights are violet, I'm not sure if you can tell in the lighting in these pictures. I really need to start daily pictures OUTSIDE in the beautiful natural light!
Green cardigan, violet shirt. Eh, eh? I don't know if anyone has noticed, but I very rarely ever say "purple" as "purple" is a invention of the Crayola company and isn't actually a word at all. Fact! I look rather busty in this picture, don't I? Well, I am rather busty, so... I guess I have to deal with that.
This was the most uneventful Mardi Gras yet! Literally THE ONLY thing I did to celebrate was wear purple, green, and gold (the official colors of Mardi Gras). Sad. But my day is about to get a whole lot better! My sister made jambalaya and, as we all know, jambalaya is not only amazingly delicious, it is also very popular in New Orleans- the world HQ for Mardi Gras celebrations! Yay for food! It will always improve my day. So I figured that, since I went to all the trouble to pick out a cute Mardi Gras outfit, I should post the pics on The Abduction and pretend like the world really cares what I wore and ate and thought today. So, humor me. At least skim.
Love,
Belle

I like to dress as European as possible which may be amusing to some of my European readers

It's just that I've seen these wonderful pictures of European street style! There are such creative, confident people all over the world who express themselves through fashion. Seriously, if you're looking for inspiration come here first (of course) but also check out lookbook. It's THE place for fashionable/artistic people. My blog is called letyourloveshinefashionart because I believe your clothes should be wearable art that expresses your individual style. I haven't posted my daily outfits the last few days because I've been wearing my pajamas around the house instead of something completely adorable and entirely original to school. Here's today's outfit. The shorts are cut-off Calvin Klein jeans, the tank top is just a simple under tank from Hollister, the tights are Hue (which is a good brand for tights so they're great but a little more expensive than your everyday tights, but thankfully I found them really cheap at Ross Dress For Less [I adore Ross, I hope all my readers enjoy the wonderland that is Ross]), the boots are Rocket Dog (and I know it seems like I'm always wearing them, but I can't help it because I just love them so much), and the cardigan is from Delias (the actual cardi- Blair Preppy Cardigan- might not be there anymore unless it's on last chance clearance, but there are alot of similar ones). The most unique part of the outfit is the jewelry. I'm wearing my favorite amethyst ring, my lucky Irish astrology pendant, an Indonesian bracelet from Lucky Monkey (which is an awesome shop I talked about in an older post. Make sure you look through those, they're gems) a jade bracelet my dad bought from a little stand when he was in Africa, 2 No-Plastic bracelets from Claire's (made of natural, recycled materials and no plastic), and another bracelet that's proceeds go to a charity to build libraries in Africa (Love In Action is the charity). Along with some awesomely exotic-looking earrings that my sister, Mel, gave me when her ear-holes closed up. I still need to write a post on crocheted clothes, but maybe not tonight. Tired brain. This weekend I'm thrift store shopping so I'm bound to get some good pics then. Oh yeah, and be prepared for a fright: next week is spirit week at my school for the Lakeland/Post Falls rivalry game! We have some super themes. But
I shan't disclose them here, out in the open, in case of attempts at espionage on the Post Falls side of things. Haha! Love,
Belle
(I feel like I have to write out haha! every time so people understand that I'm laughing and joking around because I refuse to say lol or jk. Ew. Just can't really stand that, you know?) (uugh! especially when people say it! Why would you say lol?! Why don't you just laugh?! Or OMG?! Why the letters? Are you lazy or do you just really enjoy the alphabet?!) (okay. My tangent is over now. I so hope I didn't offend anyone.) Good night darlings!

I Have Been Crocheting a... thing

I don't really have any idea what it is I've been crocheting, I'm just glad that I have been. Crocheting, that is. So this is the outfit I wore yesterday (kind of boring I know, but I didn't have the will power to be cute yesterday) I didn't have the chance to post it last night. The necklace is the focal point- it was hand-made in Korea. My dad got them for all the daughters (he has 4) when he was there. I love it because it reminds me of Arwen's necklace from The Lord of the Rings, except that it's red and black. The shirt's from Walmart, believe it or not, the jeans are Cruelgirls from Goodwill, and the sweater is from Costco. Strange, the things you can get at Costco. In one of these pictures (and, trust me, you'll know it when you see it) I kind of look like I want to eat you. Sorry about that... Later I will post more on crocheting. Like some great outfits with crocheted pieces. Till then: anon good readers, anon... Love,
Belle

French T-shirt got me elected president (Queen, Dictator, Supreme Ruler) of French Club...

... Or it could have been my campaign slogan: "Hi I'm Bellamy- yes that's a french name and why, yes, my shirt is french- and I would like to be your dictator. You shall all address me as 'Your Majesty the Queen' and bow whenever I walk past." No, I'm not kidding. My name really is french! Oh yeah, and I really did say that and people really did go for that. You gotta love Idahoans and that great Idahoan sense of humor... Okay! So... Here is what I wore today. The boots are my dearest joy in life (they're Rocket Dogs), the shirt is from Delias but there is now a similar one on Alloy, the lovely green cardigan is from Target, and the skirt is from Lucky Monkey Trading Company (which is the greatest little eclectic Indian/Indonesian shop in downtown Coeur d'Alene). I love going in there- I feel so cool. Like those cool people who hang out in little coffee shops all the time and play guitar on the side of the street for pennies. I'd like to be like them. And live in a tree. Love,
Belle

Today! Is a BEAUTIFUL Day!

Hello Earthlings! Sorry, I didn't mean to discriminate against Martians and other inhabitants of other planets. Ya! So here is the outfit I wore today along with clothes inspired by the movie Prince of Persia, especially Tamina's beautiful clothes. I love that movie. I really wish I had the Sands of Time Necklace! The shirt I wore today is one of my favorites, because it reminds me of French ballerinas and tea parties. The boots are, of course, my true love in riding boot form, and the shorts are home-cut-off Calvin Klein jeans from a local thrift store. I wore my mom's oatmeal cardigan with the outfit for part of the day, but got hot (sweaty) in math class and had to take it off. This had ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with a certain someone I sit next to in that class... nope. Nothing. No thing. Heehee. Anyhoo. I'm a bit tired after writing my 5 page psych essay on OCD. So, gute nacht, bonne nuit, nakemiin, خوب شب , tunaydin, おやすみなさい, good night to you all, darlings! Love,
Belle

The Beginning of a New Era... (for lOVESHINE)

Yay! I have finally entered the world of sophisticated fashion blogging! I know, hold the applause, please. I'd like to thank God and my mom and my friends and my second cousin twice removed and my friend's cute brother... Ha! Anyhoo... This is the first ever post including a picture of me! This is a pic of the outfit I wore to school today, my Finnish friend Anna in her adorable outfit, an outfit I wore to a play last year (to the theater! [I loudly exclaimed this in an English accent while writing this]), and the outfit I wore to be a fortune teller for spirit week. I wore the shirt in the fortune telling outfit yesterday with my "identical twin" because this weekend at a thrift store we found the same one in her size. Anyhoo... Today's outfit is the one with the violet shirt and teal skirt, Anna is the foxy blond with the beautiful lace dress (happy Anna? I didn't call you cute! [she hates cute because she feels like people are talking to her like they'd talk to a puppy, so I've started calling her foxy instead because that has ABSOLUTELY nothing to do with canines]) If I think of a good theme to post about I'll write another one tonight; if not, good night darlings, expect to hear from me again tomorrow. Love,
Belle
